Have you heard the GOSSIP?
Magazine
Existing tabloids or gossip magazines around the world are often monotonous: globally is being gossiped about the same people, often celebrities that you will never personally know.
Yet, gossiping can play a vital role in fostering social cohesion within a local community.
During a residency at Zagreb's museum of contemporary art, the social role of gossiping was being researched through the knowledge and skills of local gossip ambassadors: people who are actively invested their neighbourhood.
The research showed that people seem to become less and less good at the act of gossiping, as well as not seeing its valuable potential. Therefore, together with 'local celebs' from the city of Zagreb, a tabloid was being developed teaching people on 'how to gossip'.
After finishing reading, the gossip magazine can be transformed into a gossip tool itself: by cutting out two holes and use it as binoculars to observe surroundings.
